A little extra on this old tinplate tank car.
What I've done is use this old tank car and add a newer frame and trucks, and couplers to allow it to run with other HO freight cars.

This is a Varney cast metal 2-8-4 Birkshire locomotive. it was assembled and painted & lettered by George Mains a member of the NYSofME. Aquired at one of their train shows maybe in 2022.

What appears to be a Bachmann N&W J1 is a repowered Bachmann using a Bowser replacement drive.

Not a reply but another post. Here you see a 4-4-0 American type loco. You can also see flatcars with frames on them. These cars were used as Idler cars to lengthen a train so as to be able to get the passenger cars into the train shed area without filling the air in the terminal with smoke.
This enlarged view of the second depot shows a typical New Jersey Railroad passenger car of 1857 when this depot opened for service. You can read the lettering on this car. It says N.J.R.R.& Trans Co. This arched roof style passenger cars reminds me of one made by Mantua, and is readily a viably even today. I dont know if I would want to tackle this project, but who knows. I sure dont. But there ois a big maybe attached to this thought.
Here is the picture of the the second depot on the Hudson, and its complete front faced of this beautiful lost to time and destroyed by the PRR when just 15 years old. and was replaced by them with a square high roofed all wood terminal building. The Big Square Barn like structure the inside of open wood framing. Used as a waiting room. Seeing what was and what the PRR built took the riding patrons out of the 19th century and back into the 18th Century. These wooden terminal building after one year had a misterious fire and burned down. The PRR replaced what was said to be was their wood fire proof wonderfull terminal with a suitable 19th Century one. I guess the riders using the wood terminal of the PRR were thrilled to be there. NAAAA!

Those pictures are reminding me of playing the game Red Dead Redemption on the PlayStation - set in a fictional 1899 the designers of the game do a wonderful job filling the games arena with a fully interactive wild west train set to play with

Here are 10 of my 11 different Hobbyline HO Fairbanksmorris H10-44 Diesel locomotives. Top right is the 1953 version of the PRR FM locos. It have a belt drive. The one missing is the 1954 version. On the 1954 version PRR name lettering in twice as big, Loco # is different is 1000B, 54 has a geared 8-wheel drive, The HObbyline name is placed of the side walkway side in the front quarter also the new for 1954 knuckle couplers are used. Both coupler types work well together. number on cab remained 1000. This loco. This loco was aviable seperatly and it also came within two set, Set #410 "THE Commuter", and set #420 "The Wayfarer". A remake 0f 1953 set #1. The Union Pacific is a 1954 release. C&O, ATSF, & Lehigh Valley were made in 1955. The B&O in the lighter blue is a 1956 release. The dark blue B&O and the CNJ and theNew York Central I detailed.

What a wonderful, historic collection. I really believe that anyone wishing too find info on model trains, trains in general, will find these posts and gain much information, for far longer than we can imagine.
