My latest build "Dome Of The Rock"

Hey fine folks!!!!! I have been away from this wonderful forum for way too long, but this is my "foray" back into paper-craft! I have always LOVED the architecture of this build, but I never saw any other model template do it actual justice, so for about two months I designed, and tested templates, until I came up with this!

This model pictured has 0% scratch-building in it, everything is from the templates, and everything aligns correctly, which to me is amazing! I of course designed the "basic" shape in Sketchup, and then made the hundreds of small patterns,tiles, and "mosaics" inside of trusty Inkscape.
I made everything into a logical, PDF file, with some diagrams, etc as well!

It took me about 3 days (But I'm a build-a-holic, so I did it NON-STOP, XD)

You glued the stripes for the dome from the inside and than put it on top, right?
Looks like A LOT of work. Nice! And these recessed window details are cool, too

100% Its a super interesting piece of history indeed! and yes, the current time, was a big factor in making this!

The dome was made from one piece of paper. I kind of rolled the paper and connected all the tips at the top, The windows are my fav part

Thank you SO much, finding this forum has been a turning point for my model building, and I say that with full honesty! Ive just been looking at all the models posted and Ive been loving it!
