    On my layout i have a clearence of 1 and 3/8 (i've just measured it, and thats what it is!!) - BUT, thats from rail-top to the under side of the bridge - from rail-to-rail its more like 2" - so be carefull to factor in the thickness of base boards etc ;) - also, i dont know if you've seen it...
