Pics from my trip to Calgary

Hi Everyone, I've finally gotten my pics from my Feb 14th jaunt around Calgary with CN1 back and scanned. They're low res scans so I could get them in quickly but it works for me for now! All of the pictures are on my site http://grumbeast.fotopic.net if you are interested. Here...

Well, I didn't get everything done, but I did get quie a lot of work done, I have some pics but need to borrow my wife's spare USB cable and get a few minutes. The papermill is underway. the mountain is about half covered with lichen, the roadbed is read for track.. but there is still a lot...

    February Photo Contest: LPB

Well, I'm afraid my LPC's (Little Plastic Comrades) couldn't come for a photoshoot as they are busily (and very happily) working and singing building the October Revolution Paper Mill (which is coming on very nicely.. after all the Nova Scotia Northern is a workers paradise!). Anyway, they...

Sorry replying to this a little after the fact.. just got back from Calgary. Love the sign, I've got to get me one of them there signs!. By the way Will, I'm 6'3 too so apart from one small pipe you wouldn't have to duck. I don't have my plan digitised yet, I really should get it done but...

    Huge thanks to CN1

Hi guys, Just wanted to say that my trip to Calgary was great and that I couldn't have wished for a more gracious and generous host than Syl (CN1). In one day we took in all the hobby stores (Trains and such is now down a GP-9 and several boxcars) Alyth, Ogden and the CN intermodal...

    Swiss Krokodyl

Hi Dick! Beautiful croc, I have the minitrix one and the springs on the panto's hold them down without clips if needed. Most of the pictures I've seen have them running with just one panto raised. Geez, how can you resist such a lovely locomotive eh? :) Graham

    Gauge layout Party No 5!!!!!

Good job Val! I always have a hard time with wiring myself, its a real nightmare sometimes. I also got some work done over the weekend. I graded the roadbed for the papermill branch, widened it to accomodate a passing loop and added a bunch of trees to the mountain. I 've now run out of...

    Gauge layout Party No 5!!!!!

Its amazing how adding trees and little details can really have an amazing effect! I'm a little remiss but have purchased some more scenic cover and have experimented on part of the mountain. Photo's a going to be a little poor (cheap 2.1MP camera, lousy lighting) but I'll get there. I'm...

    My train video archive

Here's another tip that would make a great difference, even a monopod or a cheap tripod would stabilise the images greatly. You track some of the trains very well but handheld work (especially with small camera's) is very difficult as they are so light that the slightest movement is really...

    Finally The CVR goes public

Thanks.. You seem to have managed to put a whole lot in without making it looked cramped. I have around 11x10 and it seems to be more compressed, but that may just be my lousy lighting and a ceiling that's only 1/2" higher than my head! Graham

    Simple Wiring Idea

the little saddle splices are really easy to use, I've gone back to splicing and soldering just because it was cheaper than buying the little boxes.

    Eleven years in the making...

That is a beautiful piece of work, there's something amazing about model electrics. The same way you watch the valve gear on a Steamer, you can watch the pantograph follow the wire on this baby.. Truly inspirational.. Graham
