Tie Fighter wings for UHU sphere

Here is an update sphere is done now working on the interior.
Below some pictures of the fighter sphere next to the experimental sphere for the Advanced X1.

Stay tunned for the next update. This will be the test fitting of the fighter wings......

Also an update from my todays progress.
Finished the interior and fitted in the sphere.
Also I made the two pair of wings without the detailing. (That will be added tomorow)

And the story goes on, I found some bad colored parts have to recour these.
But the biggest challenge is the attachment of the wing. Some how I miscalculated things. I have to go back to the drawing and calculating board.
I will upload an picture later this evening so you can see what the problem is.

Aahhh... The trials and tribulations of modeling!

Tie fighters look so simple, but in reality they're complicated beasts! At any rate your models are going to look better than the original props.

Eventually we'll need a Tie Fighter vs. Thunder Fighter thread!

At any rate you're doing good work so don't sweat it!

This part should have an angle after assembly, but ti get it fitted on the wing the sides had to be fitted straight.
So I have to correct this error.

Is it a mistake you made or a flaw in the pattern template design?

Yup my mistake did some wrong calculations. I hope I can correct it in the weekend.

To my uninitiated eyes I wasn't sure. But I have confidence that you'll be able to fix it. I'm hoping for an easy fix!

I might be too late with this, but have you considered that holographic paper that they use on gift bags or even reflective tape? They have all colors and shades and textures. Even black. I'm in a rush right now or I would search and post a link.

My local Hobby Lobby has some pretty sick "foil papers" they even have the "rainbow" effect that the ST, TMP Enterprise had in the warp speed shots.
