What an inspiration after all the perspiration!
Hi friends!
Still working on the tour, almost arrived to the top. Little time for building, even less for posting, please forgive my little presence.
This time I'll start wit a great mistake I discovered, as always, when it was too late... After having glued the halfway stairs platform I realized it was turned 45 degrees from the right position... aaaargh!!! Removing it was a pain... and some of the details was ruined and had to be replaced. I took the opportunity to add some more details to the underside that was "naked" in my first attempt.
Now, after some restoration work, I am right at the same point as before, but the balcony is at the right angle...and with some more details in the lower side.
Now let's go with the last batch of frames....
Unfortunately, as I was afraid of, going up, the beams became thinner and the laser, instead of cutting details, burns most of them. So I was forced to re-draw all the last section making all the beams thicker so that the laser leaves enough paper to consent to build the structure... The second attempt (really there was more then two...) was successful and the main body could be completed.
At the very top there are eight shelves sustaining the last section with the belvedere. For them I used again the well known "sandwich" technique to have a complex piece with the right width and very thin details.
This is the actual state of the upper section of the main body. Now I'm going to deal with the greatest of all challenges... to realize the belvedere and the last section with all the complex structures and antennas, I'm planning to add a LOT of custom realized details. The original model was very approximate and poor in this spot... I studied a lot the photos of the topmost part to figure out how to render it at the best.. See you very soon with the final chapter!
