This is the English Pub, the first model of the World Food Street Papercraft Series. The idea behind this new series is to create small restaurants, bars, pubs and diners inspired by some of the most traditional and iconic foods from different countries around the world, always in a compact format that fits on a single printed sheet and is easy to assemble, even for beginners in the hobby.

Each model in this series will try to represent not only the typical cuisine of a country, but also a little of the visual and cultural atmosphere of those places. Depending on local traditions, some models will be classic restaurants, while others may become pubs, diners, cafés, taverns or small street food establishments, always trying to capture that distinctive atmosphere that instantly makes us recognize each culture.

Besides the traditional foods, the series will also pay special attention to facades, signs, shop windows, posters and the characteristic colors of each place. All models will feature vibrant visuals, lots of illustrated details and that compact miniature urban diorama style that I really enjoy creating here at Papermau.

Among the models already planned for future posts are a Japanese restaurant, an Italian trattoria, a Thai restaurant, a classic American diner, a Brazilian restaurant and several other establishments inspired by different parts of the world. The idea is that, little by little, this collection will form a kind of international gastronomic street in papercraft form.

That is really cool. I can see this series to be used in very different ways: as standalone models, on railroad layouts and even as cake toppers. I love it!

Many thanks to Revell-Fan and mijob for the kind words and encouragement about this new series.

Today I am also leaving here the second model in the collection, an American Diner inspired by the classic roadside restaurants and retro diners from the United States during the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Just like the English Pub, this new model follows the same philosophy: compact, easy to build and fitting on a single printed sheet.

I also decided to share a blank PNG template version for anyone who would like to create their own personalized restaurants, cafés, diners, shops or other establishments. The template is very simple and can be easily edited in almost any graphic editor, even basic programs like MS Paint, which I still use quite often myself.

Most of the future restaurants planned for this series will use this same basic structure, with small modifications depending on the country, architectural style and atmosphere I want to recreate. This is intentional, so that when displayed side by side, the models keep a certain visual harmony as part of the same collection.

As always, modifications and custom versions are very welcome and may also be featured on the Papermau blog with full credit given to the author.
