Pick your chicken (Imperial edition) ;-)

Thank you very much! :)

The head is now complete.

Now begins the tricky task: Getting that darn chick to stand. ;)

To strengthen the joints I wrapped some paper around the pins. The upper and lower leg parts are glued together. The hip pieces are left to dry overnight to make sure that the bond is strong enough to sustain the weight of the head. The enhancements and laminations make it relatively heavy. If it topples over I'll add a rod to the bottom. :)

Time to get serious! :)

The heel joints were the most problematic ones because the punched hole was a bit too big and the joint was a tad too loose. The leg would stand on its own but the added weigth of the head made the structure collapse.

After the heels were glued together everything was strong enough to stand freely.

I added the head - and much to my surprise the walker was standing upright!

I have applied a good amount of glue to the hip joints to make sure that they will be solid as a rock. :)

Thank you very much! :)

In my previous post I was actually referring to the heels, not the ankles. I have revised the terminology accordingly. The ankle joints are very strong and stay movable to adjust the position so that the feet touch the ground completely. On the next version I'll be testing a fused together leg assembly with easier hips and the much needed neck revision. ;)

Today is time for Xmas cards, then I'll continue with present#2. Stay tuned! :)

those killer teddies will never stand a chance!
I can already imagine the scene: the Walker is surrounded by the little fur balls, looking around, and then it sets into motion. Splat! Splat! Another! In the aftermath you see a loooong trace of bloody footsteps leading into the woods... Damn, it's Xmas, mate, not Halloween!!! :hammerhead::rolllaughing:

The base was made from black card (14x16x2cm). A simple internal skeleton was added from corrugated card:
