Indeed it does not!! Model railroading is like an onion--peel a layer off and find another layer underneath...

Lighting, yes, lighting...need to get lighting fixtures! I wanted to try compact tube fluorescents, but I'll have at least one "island" sticking out of my wall using methods similar to above to illuminate the island (which probably will not have a valence.) I was considering compact halogen spotlights but a fluorescent bulb fixture in a reflector might work well too, and generate less heat...
 
Very interesting Harold. How about posting some of your photos directly on the Gauge. I think your techniques would make a great addition to the academy.

I also like your idea of learning on a small layout. :thumb:
