mijob's TIE Phantom

Hello all,

here we go to the cockpit nose window.
I prepared all the necessary parts and glued them together according to mijobs instructions.

That's it for now,

next will follow some small Greeble parts and the final assembly of everything.

Thank you

Hello again,

thank you mijob and Rhaven Blaack

as promised some small greeble parts and the final assembly.

Mijob's templates suggest a multilayered paper pipe between the cockpit ring and the cloaking device.
I tried a different aproach. I used some yarn, wire, paper tube and some smaller paper pieces.
Here is my Version.

Image37.jpg

cut into tree pieces and a piece of wire inserted (to keep the form later)

Image35.jpg

The paper tube

Image32.jpg

Split into 6 pieces (one for each end)

Image31.jpg

Yarn Painted with marker, small pipes edge painted.

Image30.jpg

Small Tube slides over each end of the yarn and excess trimmed

Image28.jpg

At this point i could just install them but i did not realize that their position is right under the wings.
This made the drilling of the holes for the wire difficult.
I did not want to brake ore damage anything (i had the cockpit already in place) so i got rid of the wires.

Image26.jpg

and this is the result, these went directly to their positions

Image25.jpg

I also used wires instead of the suggested paper pipes.

Gluing Process.

Image41.jpg

That is all for the preparations. I glued everything into place and finalized the model.

coming up next, the finished Phantom.

thank you

I enjoyed this build. It's my first TIE (but not my last, just waiting for mijob to design the Andor TIE )
I learned a lot on the way and had a lot of fun.

Thank you for the company on this journey and i hope to see you on the next one.

You done a FANTASTIC job on this model!:surprise::surprise::surprise::surprise::surprise: I concur with Rhaven that your work had clean, crisp, cuts. Thanks for sharing your marvelous work with us!:):):):):)
:CHEERS::CHEERS:

:BRAVO::BRAVO::BRAVO::BRAVO:

Excellent build. The individual parts were cut with such care. The finish model could only be excellent looking at the perfect parts that make it up. :)

mijob ,

You made a beautiful model, it came out fantastic. Now, another member was able to follow your directions and produce another model.

Congratulations, you designed a fantastic model, built it, and did such a good job, an excellent builder, thegreek270
was able to reproduce your work, from your file, and build thread, and make another fantastic model That's just freakin' awesome!! :)

Hello again,

thank you all for your kind words.

I'm glad that the template and building instruction are o.k.
Your templates and instructions where O.K. indeed. What ever changes i did on them where just because of my personal (illness in my head  ) wishes.
And the Andor Tie is work in progress...
Can't wait to build that one, it's a too crazy interesting model to pass. So much potential for greebles and adaptions.

Thank you Rhaven Blaack, Chuffy70 and Sky Seeker,
your comments are very much appreciated.

Thank you Zathros and Toutenkarton,
I always try to get the parts as precise as possible even if that means i have to do some of them again (which i also did on this build :()
Small differences in the early stages tend to add up into bigger visible problems later on.

Thank you Revell-Fan and spaceagent-9 ( i hope there will be more "layered Work" following soon ;))

Thank you Zathros for your kind words its a honor for every designer when your model is build.

Greek did a fantastic job and his addons are great.

Thank you so much zathros and mijob.

@mijob You don't carry the Titel "TIE Designer" by mistake SIR, you honestly deserve it for all your Designs you did and probably will do in the future.

The presentation of the phantom on a jar does not look very nice so i am in the process of 'designing' a nice stand for it.
Temporary i placed it on a very simple one to keep it safe from any damage.

That should do for now.
I will be back very soon with updates on the Base.

Thank you

Hello again,

thank you Zathros, that's very kind of you.

As already announced, here is a little update on that base I'm working on (I'm very busy these days :( ).

It's far away from being the final result.
What do you think about the concept having the ship "hovering" above ground ?

Will update soon.

Thank you
