The Yards are north of Sheppard East between McCowan and Markham Rd(HWY48)and below Finch East.
A great place to take pics.

Thanks Chris, yes I remember the posts of the tour you were fortunate to go on. Thanks for the location. I know Toronto east reasonably well. Used to work at Bayview and Sheppard many years ago. Know of a couple of folks that live in Scarborough.

Yes; there are pneumatic computer-controlled brakes, which are part of the roadbed. Here in Edmonton, these are covered by a barn-like structure, due ( I suppose) to snow in winter. If I'm not mistaken, they're sort of like giant brake pads that squeeze the railcar wheels as it passes by.
