HMS Fearless

I will soon begin work on the HMS Fearless model. The original is 3ft long, but I have scaled it down to 75%. Construction report attached again.

I've only seem this model built once before. It's a great looking ship. Great choice.

This one is huge, some skinny person might be able to get inside!!

This is a rather interesting looking ship.
Please forgive me for being thick. However, I am not at all familiar with its design or from what SCI-FI it is derived.

The ship originates from David Weber's book series “Honor Harrington.”

Story wise, it's not that old of a story. I read a synopsis of it, it was very interesting. It would make a great movie franchise.

We'll start with these parts. The model is quite complex because the adhesive tabs are missing (you have to attach them yourself) and because of the reinforcements made of 0,039 inch (1mm) and 0.01inch (0,5mm) cardboard. It's likely to be a time-consuming project.

I'd say it makes things more interesting, and the “strokes” end up being more precise and beautiful.

The first parts are done—boat bays, lower block, sensor mount, sensor wings, floor grilles, and sensor capsules—all reinforced with cardboard and featuring added glue tabs. Because of this, I realize the model will take longer to complete, but it’s fun.

The next parts are the nose and the tail section with the attached gravity rings; these are custom-made, since there are no corresponding parts available (I’m referring to those odd “bumps”). The designer used toothpicks and lollipop sticks for this, but unfortunately these parts wouldn’t stick and kept falling off—hence the simple custom design.
