That's what I feared! They fitted for me but I think there might be some trimming required depending on the thickness of the used paper. Great to see your progress!

The lower hull is completed. Now...the upper hull.
I have a question for you Revell-Fan............ How you made the round forms of the upper hull. Do you have a Template or someting ?
I need some tips for this one, with all the Windows and the lights, this will be quite complicated

Be careful when inserting the head! The hole must be widened a bit. I tried to alter the mesh to avoid that but the texture got lost during the proces, so I had to unfold the model "as is" without being able to incorporate the thickness of the paper.
The round forms of the upper hull are simly done by rolling the parts over a rod or a smooth pencil - or around the corner of your kitchen room table. Use everything you can find which is round and smooth. You'll have to score the dark grey lines that go from front to back of the parts first to divide every part into three sections (one on the left, one in the middle and one on the right). Then roll each section using the rod. The center section has to be rounded more than the rim sections. Then the piece is glued to the inner frame structure. Glue one section at a time to achieve a good and smooth result.
As for putting the lights inside, may it be helpful to simply cut off the middle section where the windows are located and attach it separately?

You can easily determine the dimesions of the card by measuring the distance of the corresponding edges of the inner formers 13 - 16 (= width) and the distances between the flaps of parts 8 & 9 (= length). If you need extra parts don't hesitate to ask!

I folks,
All my summer project being completed, I can now return on this project.
I build a quick ''upper hull'' to help me to have a good overview for the final assembly and the wiring. Next step, cutting for the windows, lights and finishing.....and assembly.
I look forward to seeing the final result

Great to see that you are continuing this project. I almost thought it had been skipped because of some major issues of the design preventing it from being lit up. I'm looking forward to seeing the result as well. BTW, I'll be trying to design the Big G in such a way that it will be easy to light her up.
Some update,
I take my quick build of the upper hull as a guide to help me find the best way for the lighting of the windows without crossing the paper.
First attempt, I put a layer of black tape, cut off a piece around the windows on the first layer, applies a layer of gray paper (and white) and put the final layer with the Windows cut. Dont like it. So, I replace the black tape with a coated of black felt-ip pen. It work !
For the real upper hull, I print the front piece on a regular paper and stick it on a thicker cardboard than I beforehand coated with black felt-tip pen. I cut all the flaps and put a piece of paper in the back for the junction of the pièces. I help me to have a smooth surface. Next step, cuting the piece on the base.

That is ingenious! I'd love to see that tip and a few step by step pics in the tutorial section. You could have saved some work by attaching some black paper instead of using the felt-tip.

I've been doing some work on the model this weekend. I stat over the upper hull cause the thickness of the base is too thick and don't like the result (I had thought that it was a good idea). I've put a card board insted of a 3/16'' foam core. The result will be more like the model on TV.
I cut the holes for the windows on the first layer of parts 3 and 4. In the next post I will show how I assemble materials for the final result of the windows.
Start some final sticking and wiring to assure me that all is correct. It will be very sad if the lights dont switch on after all the parts glued together.
