The 1/72nd X-Wing starts with priming the parts, the first color coats
not shown here is tat I did some wash and highlight work on the "dirtiest" parts.

Decals applied during sub assemblies to make them easier to get to..

The edge on view of the closed S-Foils,
And the construction of the fuselage starts with the cockpit tub,

The Pilot gets painted as a generic Rebel X-Wing pilot,
Then I found a better reference pic to go by and made changes...

That came out great!! I though it was a bigger scale, which amazes me more than you did such a great job in such a small scale. Kudos to you. 
That is the magic of Bandai models: Even at that tiny scale they are uber-packed with detail so that they look much larger in photographs. Some people even speculate that the price of the new 1/72 Falcon is so high because they painstakingly re-created every single kit part ILM used to create and detail the original filming miniature. Which means that the kit would contain over 1000 parts..! 
That wouldn't surprise me, thier 1/144th Falcon has over 150 parts...That is the magic of Bandai models: Even at that tiny scale they are uber-packed with detail so that they look much larger in photographs. Some people even speculate that the price of the new 1/72 Falcon is so high because they painstakingly re-created every single kit part ILM used to create and detail the original filming miniature. Which means that the kit would contain over 1000 parts..!
