I'm new to model railroading, but because of space, I can only use 18" radius curves. Can Walthers's amtrak superliners run on these curves? I know that officially they're not supposed to be able to, but can they or is it impossible without them derailing?

The prototypes are 85' long. The models I believe are about 11.5" long. They are the Walthers rolling stock Superliners, here is one of the type (they're all basically the same)

I think you are out of luck with 18 inch radius. By the time you modify the cars to work on an 18 inch radius, they would no longer resemble Superliner cars. Also the couplings would have to be too far apart to look good in order to keep the ends of the cars from binding on the tight radius curves.
