    "Once upon a Train"

...do something "railroady." Now, how about a brake test before we depart?" Everybody just kind of stared at each other as if they had no idea what he was talking about. Fonzie said again, "You know, a brake test," but, indeed they did not know. So Fonzie (or at least the man we thought was...

Love the pencil, '77. Bob, I thought it was okay to listen to ZZ Top as long as you didn't dance to it! :D Nice job on the car. How's the Noah's Ark project coming?

...pulled on the lever. "All right," said Fonzie, "No need to panic. I have just applied the air brakes so's we won't fall! Now, it seems to me like since we are up here, that we need to get down. And the best way I know of to get down is with some music. So...Hit It!" He tossed a coin in...

    Robin,(Matthyro) This hurts

Robin, you've been an inspiration to me, too. You've encouraged me here at The Gauge and showed me the joys of scratchbuilding. Like others have mentioned, I will never look at a cereal box the same way again. I'll be praying for you and your family. God bless you.

Poll: Do you own an atlas depot?

Well, on further examination, it turns out I have a Bachmann depot instead of an Atlas (same kit, different brand). When I bought it, it was assembled as shown here. Some parts on the back are broken out. I may fix it or kitbash it, or just plant a tall tree behind it if I decide to use it. :D

    "Once upon a Train"

...the theme music cranked up. It was a soul-stirring rendition of "I've Been Workin' On the Railroad" sung by a chorus of Munchkins and various animated creatures. Fonzie said, "Hey, how 'bout some real tunes." You see Fonzie had installed satellite radio on the train and with a click of a...

    "Once upon a Train"

Kenneth Cooper (K.C.) Jones! Unlike his more famous relative from the Illinois Central, this K.C. Jones was an accomplished musician and the lead singer in a 70's retro band. However, instead of playing disco like a more famous 70's band with the letters "K.C.", K.C. Jones' band played nothing...

    Manchester, GA

Chris (Interurban) mentioned that he was from Manchester, England and wanted to see some pictures of Manchester, GA. Here are some that I took a couple of years ago. Manchester is located between Atlanta and Columbus. Lines from Birmingham, Atlanta, and Waycross all meet here. Traffic is...

It sure was, Ray. Brady (the boy in the picture) put up quite a fuss when he had to leave. (I felt the same way. :( ) Here are some more pictures. These are from the "old-time" module on the Miracle Strip Club's HO modular layout.

    "Once upon a Train"

...let off a couple of fast shots. BANG! BANG! (Don't worry, he was shooting blanks.) Curly looked up and said, "Oh, a wise guy, eh?" and responded with a spritzer blast that missed the tour guide and soaked down most of the passengers in the boat. The guide piloted the boat around the bend...
