    Cross (super) Elevation

I've used a single piece of shirt cardboard under the outside edge of the curve (in n scale) and it looked great, no ill-effects to running either. Honestly I just went ahead an did it with no real planning and it worked. Graham

    2-8-4 Van Sweringen Berkshire

These look rather similair to the Berkshire used in the Polar Express, would seem to be fortuitous timing on the part of Lifelike. They certainly are beautiful, definately on my "would like" list. Graham

    Brit rail

Like I said, I'm not a HO scale modeller, but I have heard very good things about Bachmann Branchline in the UK (Bachmann in N in N.America is pretty dodgy (save the new 2-8-0)) but they seem to have thier act together in the UK. In terms of buildings, there's a lot of interest in Card...

    Brit rail

I'm not sure if there was anywhere where all four railways were represented. Lots of places for 2 though, based on geographical neighbours, GWR/LMS GWR/SR LMS/LNER etc Graham

    Brit rail

the 30s were a pretty interesting time with some amazingly beautiful locomotives running on all of the big four (ok.. I admit.. I love all four railway companies, I just have an affinity with the GWR growing up in S.Wales.) I found this railroad map of the main terminus's in London in 1935...

Hi Curmudgeon, Don't listen to 60103, he just has a thing for the LNER :) :) The Great Western (or should I say "Gods Wonderful Railway") is a fine fine railway, those supporters of those 'other' railways have never gotten over the fact that we had real Welsh steam coal and not that other...

It's MONDAY 11-22-04, weekend modeling accomplishments!

The Dartmouth NS show was a blast, I'll hopefully have some pictures too. My group the EasterNbeNders ran a smallish (20') long layout with only one slow speed rear-end collision (pretty good for us!). In terms of my layout I didn't get anything done but did manage to get a sweet deal on a n...

    Polar Express: 2 thumbs up

Its called a MOCAP (or motion capture machine) I have one here in my Animation department, they're pretty cool. Now if only I can persuade my faculty to incorporate building 3D models of various locomotives into thier curriculum we'd be sorted! Graham

    Have We Become Merely Stereotypes?

This is worrying, coming from the UK and being a trainspotter during the 80s I lived through the hobby being considered a slightly eccentric but harmless hobby (hell every small boy wanted to be an engine driver) to a much shunned, maligned and victimised minority group. Popular culture uses...
