Well there you go...that's the best way IMHO. My LHS does the same for me, orders what I want and it's usually the same price as the internet retailers but without the shipping costs. Plus, I try to help my LHS with purchases when I can so they'll still be in business when I need them.

I have ordered from NScalesupply and have no real complaints. The only thing I wonder about is where they get their supply from. I've had items ordered only to find out that they wouldn't be in stock for a very long time. So watch what you order, and if you need it right away, I'd suggest...

Yikes! Save the real investment - your relationship. (But boxing everything up is a good call too.) I agree with Ralph whole-heartedly. Sound advice.

You could also use faux (fake) fur that can be bought cheaply at almost any fabric store. The brown colors make pretty convincing long grass. I don't think you can paint it, but you can alter or highlight the coloring with chaulks lightly touched to the fur.

Are you serious about the eye sight? I hope things get better quickly with the layout - but more importantly - your sight!

Hi guys...maybe one of you have used this product and already know the secrets...I bought the Woodland Scenics Foam Roadbed material for Nscale and have glued the straight-aways with no problem. My question is how do you handle the curves? It seems this stuff really doesn't want to bend well...

Good point. I go all over the country but always try to find a computer to "check in" with you guys...sorta brings me home thinking about the kids and the layout and what we need to do.

I got the new layout foam board painted and the straight mainline track roadbed glued down.

Between putting down wood flooring in two bedreoms, I hope to paint the new narrow shelf layout foam board, glue on the mainline roadbed and lay the mainline track.
