Well as far as the X it's pretty darn sturdy, but ya I glued the foam down, came back, and it was like a spring board, so today I am going to add some stringers.
Well I finished up my table and added my new controller. here are some pictures.
Next I will adding the pink foam to the top and planing the placement of the layout.
depending on how you built your layout, you could remove them and bring them up from the bottom vertically.
But you could ballast them like piles of rock or coal, which you can see next to the rails all the time in yards, or make a pile of old rail ties.
I finally got working on my table.
I have moved, and well got my self a basement. I have made many purchase's, and by tonight I should be finished with the table.

well I can't find VIA loco's so My steamer is doing a vintage tour deal of the yellowhead pass.
Thank for your reply on the crossing. well I don't have pictures loaded yet but i have started building The bench work. I made a little adjustment so I can pull off the smaller section easyer. It's now a 5x3 section, so I will not have to worrie about the small radius.

How high do you guys like the taples at, i know you want it high as posible so your looking across it , but able to still work on it. i just don't want to find out my table legs are to short.
