Bought camera - here we go!

This picture reminds me of the forest fires we had when I was growing up in Colorado. Never got closer than about 10 miles, and since I was only a kid, I didn't understand why my parents wouldn't let me get closer. Now I know why. Very nice picture.

Bought camera - here we go!

Nice pictures! I bought a digital camera a while back (less $$ and less capability then yours) but I've used it more often in the last two months than I've used my regular camera in 4 years. I still have film in the reg. camera that's 2 years old. I can't remember what half the pictures I...

N Scale Plan - Your Thoughts, Please?

Just some quick thoughts on your track plan: The blue is a dividing wall that blocks all vision, while the red would be either a structure or terrain feature that you can't see beyond at track level. The green objects are just buildings. Not a bad plan, but you may have a little too much...

I'm pretty sure that the company that owns that tractor isn't real swift on the idea either! That driver better hope the hydraulic lines don't give out during mid 'heave!'

Favorite loco in each decade by top companies

My absolute favorite is the EMD "Century", the DD40AX Century that is! I'm also partial to DD35's and U50's as well. No two-man handcarts for me!:D

Photo quiz: did you recognice this veteran?

Well, to be honest, I kinda cheated.:o I've been poking around the Spookshow website recently http://www.visi.com/~spookshow/locos.html and he mentions the DL-500 locomotives that were imported into the US in Nscale. http://www.visi.com/~spookshow/ibertrenalco.html So when you showed a...

Photo quiz: did you recognice this veteran?

That's an ALCO DL500-C a.k.a. the FDP-7. Here's a shot of one sans the spraypaint.

    Q on some online retailers

I've dealt with both retailers (albeit in Nscale) and have had no problems with either one. I've ordered from Hobby Circle a couple of times through the internet and the orders were shipped the next day and without trouble. With Train World, you need to order over the phone. Call the 800...

A control stand for the layout

Dang, that's purty! An excellent job with that one Ralph! Now you need to place a small bowl with a mix of diesel fuel and oil under your seat and set it on fire. Maybe you can get a buddy to sit in a chair next to you while you hostle. Also, wire the throttle into the accelerator cable of...

    New Rolling Stock

David, I'm running on Kato Unitrak right now. That turnout is my oldest with about 2 years use on it. I keep meaning to fix it or replace it, but I never get around to it. I do have some Pecos sitting in the box waiting for my lazy behind to go out and buy the foam so I can start a...
