    info on sign CD ?

I'm looking at an add in RMC for a CD with thousands of RR signs from www.modelbuilder.info. Before I spend that kind of money on a CD ($25), I would like to hear from anyone who has actually tried it, to get their opinion on the quality of the clip-arts etc. I'm interested in the time period...

Any good pics of your HO or N scale Layouts?

Mark, I just looked at the pictures on your home page, looks like a great layout. Do you have any trackplan? Jesper

    Track Plans

I have never done it, but I would think drawing a 6" or 12" grid on the 4x8 would be the way to do it Jesper

    Far From the Middle

usually the layout shouldn't be wider than what you can reach at any point, so 2-3ft is probably the max width you should go for. If you have track in a place you can't reach, then 100% sure your trains will either derail or stall at exact that place, that's called 'Murphy's law", so I would...

    My first structure

I think it's a great looking building, and one you can be proud of, congratulation. As Tom mentioned, it looks like you need glass in your windows. It seems like you have done a little bit of weathering on the walls and on the roof at the sign, but I think it could need some more, add more...

    White letter decals....

I received the white decal powder the other day, and today I finally got around to try it. It's really easy to use, you pour it on top of the printed decal while the ink is still wet, then immediately remove the excess powder, and heat with a heat gun. The heat gun will cause the powder to melt...

wow, that last photo looks just fantastic. I assume it your building on a diorama, but I can't really tell if it's the real thing or not. I have been scrolling up and down several times now to check details, and every detail on the 'real' picture matches the details on your model, that's why I...

Paul, Great looking building. Are you planning on doing more weathering on the building? Personally I would probably do some heavy weathering of the walls and signs, maybe it's just the photo, but I think they appear to be in much less deteriorated than the rest of the building. Jesper

you could also try some drybrushing of the walls. Dry brushing is used for highlighting details, you dip your brush in some lightgray or other light colr, then remove all of the paint again brushing on a piece of paper towel, then when you think you have removed all the paint, try and carefully...

looks great Val. I too would be a bit concerned if I were to weather a $500 model. But it sure turned out beautiful. Jesper
