I noticed the broken panes of glass also. Very nice touch. I would almost expect to see a real person walk out of those buildings. I don't know what I can add that hasn't already been said.

You make time for trains, but ...

    1. Watch college football? No, while I love football, I prefer pro football. Would rather watch a hockey game on Saturdays or any other day the Dallas Stars are playing. 2. Do stuff around the house.......? Saturday is my only day off, so I do a little, but don't beat myself up too...

    brother's kids: the aftermath.

What you have said is probably very true. And I would also say people who lack imagination, creativity and vision.

    brother's kids: the aftermath.

I just read your other post about your brother and his kids coming for a visit. Unfortunately, there are a good many parents that are completely oblivious to their children's crappy behavior. And anytime you have to mention to people about their children's behavior, you have already lost. In...

    My First Styrene Kit...

Even though you aren't happy with the weathering, your model kit actually turned out pretty good. The first kit I ever did turned out horrible. I didn't throw it out, but did use it as an abandonned building on my first layout. It was a real learning experience for me. Let's just say that...

    Bowmanville rail show 2003

Thanks for posting pictures - cute grandson! How large was this show? I've only been to three train shows in my life and they have all been in the Dallas, TX area. How many scales were represented?

    My First Styrene Kit...

Just a suggestion - if you are going to weather the siding of the house, also weather the window and door trim. I'm just going by the picture, but you wouldn't normally see bright white trim if the house is weathered. Just my thoughts.

    yuck taste.

As someone before me mentioned, a 3-m mask is the best thing to do. I use autumn color spray paints all the time to do my autumn scenery. Fortunately, because I live in Texas, I can do mine in the garage any time of year or can take it outside. And, at this time, my display is very portable...

    Pictures of our Mini-Train Show

Hey gang - just wanted to let you know that as a result of this mini train display at the restaurant, the parents of the little red-haired fellow (from the earlier pictures in this thread) have purchased him a Kato N scale starter set for his 5th birthday. They came in for dinner last night...

    Double Diamond Ranch

I am continually overwhelmed by the projects that you put together from scratch. The brickwork on this one is so real. I'm not sure how you do it, but I'm glad that you do. Thanks for sharing all of your "labor of love" with us.

I am sad, but I am back again

I am truly sorry to hear of your loss. Both of my parents have been gone for a very long time. They suffered from terminal illnesses at different times. I was able to make it home to be with my Dad when he passed, but could not make it in time for my Mom. In my heart, I know that their...

    Calling all Gauge members!

If Glen gets a job and can take some time off, we'd love to come. Of course, we'd have to go and visit his Mom and Dad in Winnepeg too. Would really like to meet the people on the forum.
