    The On30 conspiracy

Thanks guys Thanks Catt and Greg, I won't be buying the Porter just yet, (disposable funds are not to hand here). I was thinking of scratching a body for perhaps my 44 tonner, SW7 or one of my MDC Shays, that's why I asked about typical widths and coupler heights. Like Charlie, I'm dreaming...

    Floquil Vs. Poly-S Paints...?

Steve, I agree with Glen, I've airbrushed with Floquil onto zinc castings and brass but not onto plastic as I hate cleaning airbrushes twice (once for the barrier and then for the Floquil paint). Eventually, I just just settled for using brushes for both Floquil and Polly S. The results are...

    Sieverville,Tn

Now I'm confused! I've stayed well clear of On30 for space reasons but am absolutely fascinated with it, especially after seeing Gauger's photos in here. :thumb: :thumb: I just misread Philip's question as being "can an HO scale CAR can be used on On30?" I ran into problems converting...

I salute you guys As I'm not into conversion kits (without knowing exactly what's in the kit) I have only today read this thread right through. My Keystone Shay was bought about 20 yrs ago and I remember at the time what a gem of a loco it is. At that time there were no insulated spoked...

Ferric Chloride might just give you the perfect finish Fred. Paint a streak here and there to get discolouration then a bit more in a few places to let it eat through. but I think you will still need to weather big bits with a diluted grey paint coz it's rare to see totally rusted corrugated...
