i think its fair to have kits with problems, i dont know how you guys get them so well designed in the first place - so i guess you will have kits that have some issues sometimes, but the end results always look amazing - im sure there have been issues with my builds yet its very satisfying to see them all done

One thing that some designers do not take into consideration, is the need of having a beta test builder. A beta test builder's job is to go through the template and the instructions to see if there are any mistakes or problems with either the template or instructions and then work with the designer to fix the problems or issues. That is a very good question. Sadly, I really do not know the answer to it. However, once I am finished, I will post finished measurements and comparisons to the WH40K plastic model. Unfortunately, I do not have the plastic model to post side-by-side photos. However, I will still post the comparative numbers.
would you say that these type of kits qualify as professional/commercial 'level/quality' sets? To me, if they are made purely for the enjoyment, and shared accordingly, all of these kits, from the most basic to high end are outstanding - given the fact that in most other areas of the hobby 'industry' the 'industry' part quickly takes over and a kit/project will become a commercial product. I for one, since discovering this area of the hobby have yet to find any faults in any kit that ive got - yes there will be errors/adjustments at times but to me that would be part of the project i guess
but i am not a model designer - from that aspect i understand that 'proofing' your project is always a good idea. It still amazes me the amount of effort people put into designing these kits, asking nothing but credit and enjoyment. More areas of this hobby could use such inspirations and positivity when its hard to draw younger people to the craft.

looking fantastic - may i ask what (if you do) markers do you use for your edging?
You make a very valid point about using ONLY the "GAMES WORKSHOP" products and models for the WH40K sanctioned tournaments. However, it actually goes further than that. If a particular model is taken out of production, it is "OFFICIALLY" removed from "game-play" (meaning that one is no longer allowed to use it during official tournaments.).
Thank you for the kind words. That is a very good question. I use tempera paints ("CURATE + COLOUR" brand tempera paints, here in the US.) and a very fine brush; and a slight "dry brushing" technique to paint the edges. Find a good company that you like, get the "basic" set of colours and then mix the colours that you need for the particular project that you are currently working. Then go from there.
