If you look at real Ion Drive engines, they are supposed to have panels facing this way. Out of all of the "Tie" fighters, this is the only one based on science. You do great service in making of this model. 
I have some problems with connecting the horizontal panel to the sphere. I have some gaps to tackle. In the mean time I build the canons that are fitted on the bottom of the sphere.
I put the horizontal panel on the sphere it looks great.
I managed to keep the gap so small as possible. See the red circle.

I couldn't wait and attached the wing to the sphere. O boy it looks awesome even with one wing. Take a look for yourself.

Well thank you so much it was a bumpy road to get this far. I thought its a easy design but it was not.
I'm thinking to add a extra part on this model. Because the predator don't have the standard laser gun's under the sphere window the laser canon compartment is empty. Because the predator has a class 0,5 hyperdrive I think to build it. I will use these drawings as a reference.
The details that you are putting into this project is AMAZING! I really like how this whole thing is coming together.
Your designs for the wing hinges are awesome. Here and on the marauder shuttle. How did you came up with it in the first place?
Am I right with guessing that this tie here will be a little bit "easier" or faster to build for a beginner like me, than the marauder shuttle. The shuttle is big and with so many details and greeble parts, but I really wanna try out those hinges someday.

Thank you for your kind words. Its not a easy build but I think you can build it if you take your time for it. My first paper model that I build was the Tie Interceptor from UHU02. Maybe you can start with the Tie Raptor. You can find the design thread via the link below. Template and instructions are available in the resource section.

Templates are updated, lets start with the beta build. I post only the finished parts by now there are enough ecamples how to build a sphere. And there will always be a building instruction available. First I made the sphere and the top hatch.
