SR-71 Blackbird; MP Model; 1/33

Nicely done, and HUGE!
Just an FYI SR-71A Build # 61-17967 now sits at the the 8th Air Force museum, Barksdale AFB in Louisiana. She went back to Lockheed Palmdale to be refurbished in 2018

Thank you all very much for the positive comments and thank you very, very much for choosing this model of mine to be part of Models of Merit. I don't know if I deserve such an honor.
I have been lurking in the background, but have followed your creation, from beginning to end.
And, all I have to say is: DAMN!!!!
You have followed a steep learning curve, climbed over the curve and created a masterpiece!
You should be very proud of yourself, sir!
Very well done!
Respect!

Just FYI: As of 4 or 5 years ago, Blackbird Airpark in Palmdale CA (in sight of the Palmdale Skunkworks) had an SR, an A-12, a drone, a 1 m stainless wind tunnel SR model, an engine (with a big chip out of the compressor), an early U-2, an F-17, all almost kick the tires close, as well as many other things. When I was there the girt shop was manned by an ex-RSO ("Rear Seat Occupant" according to the pilots manual.) Highly recommend the book: "Flying the SR-71 Blackbird: In the Cockpit on a Secret Operational Mission" Which details everything from meal the night before to suiting up, all the cockpit and ground pre-flight, including what switches when and why. After reading this, you could almost take-off and fly the SR yourself.
