Hello fans,
today we were experiencing a spectacular eclipse in Europe. Here in Germany the moon covered the sun by about 90%. It was an amazing sight and I took some pictures of it for you to enjoy. My phone cam was unable to capture anything clearly but fortunately my small Fuji did a tremendous job (considering it is not a highend cam or even a cam connected to a professional telescope). The images I am postig here are the original, unedited, not AI enhanced pure images I took during that event. I only resized them to a max of 1000x1000pix.
Yesterday my mom and I were looking for a good place offering a good view at the sky at the targeted time (7 - 9 PM). We found the perfect spot at the outer edge of the town:
A vast panorama with ony a few trees and no buildings obscuring the view.
We arrived at about 7:10PM, five minutes before the estimated begin of the transit. We brought ourselves into position and I started documenting. To make sure that the cam was not damaged I simply pressed my protective glasses over the lens. We got the glasses on the last final full eclipse which took place on 1999, Aug 11th - almost exactly 27 years ago (imagine that!).
Then it began.
The first touch was gentle, almost invisible, but you could feel that something was going on.
Then it got clearer, until no-one could deny that it was actually happening:
SPECTACULAR!
I had to send @Rhaven Blaack and @mijob a quick pic. Since my phone cam did not capture the event properly I simply took a picture of the Fuji picture.
When I looked up again I saw that a balloon was approaching!
And another, coming from the opposite direction:
They were standing almost fully still in the sky, watching the eclipse from a perfect position. What a marvellous view they must have had!
Slowly the sun eater continued his meal. Until we got -
PACMAN!!!
Granted, instead of growing fatter it got slimmer as time went by. You can't have all at once.
