Very well done so far. Looks like the end result will be excellent.
This ship has a very complicated casemate system, which I imagine would be pretty difficult to build. How is the kit in this regard?

Great job, FLU!!! I built the Willemshaven version many years ago and now have the GPM w/photo-etched parts (tks, Hobby Factory!). I'm taking notes on how you build....I can use the help:grin:

Look for the smooth weathering I made around the bulleyes..........

Great job on your approach to the first full hull (ship/liner/ship of the line/battleship/armored ship of the line/....:grin: ) ....I have never build a full hull ship...and am threatening to do so,(maybe in the near future?) and I hope that my attempt will maybe come close to your great job....it's clean, and from here on you should really enjoy your progress!!! I really enjoy your build threads!!!:grin:

macro pics are terrible.......

because of the size of the model the real overall impression is much better than the pics.......often I see some gaps just at the pics..............but, it looks nice for me............with relings and rigging it will be impressive !

the next steps are "upstairs", the hullis finished with all details.......
the shipyard delivered the propellers and the rudder
and the bilge keels (is that the right term ??)
Just look for my rack. I used a (for me) new material it´s named "kappa Platte", a sandwich of cardstock and a sort of foam, light, stiff and easy to cut. The cutted edges I will cover with cardboard later............
and the overall look
It seems that my shelf will be to small for the ship......

What a striking build, I think your weathering really added a lot to the overall impression. Very well done, thanks for posting the photos!

turret "ANTON".The turrets of german battle ships all have names beginning with A for the front turret, the next was named bis a B "BERTA" and so on
See the turret before weathering but still detailed with lasercut ladders......

Great lookin' guns there FLU! It's neat how it can turn from side to side. Interesting factoid about the naming convention. Is that universal (not just German)?
