The left winglet joined to the main body. Note the excessive amount of glue around the edges. This actually give a better joint between the main body and the winglet. The glue dries transparent.
Both wings joined to the main body. At this point it looks ready to fly! If you build this section you just can't help to build it for just this section. Felt the same way for this section on the Next Liner only that one looked like one of the spaceships from Flash Gordan.

Ship #7 - Opalia
This model is relatively quick to assemble and can be assembled in a day as there are only 11 parts on one page.
Main body - Right. Nose Cone - Left.
Wings - right. Left and Right Winglets center. Wing tips bottom. Note that the wingtips were accidentally glued at the bottom. Some "minor" surgery needed to be done to separate the bottom from each other.
Note the bottom portions of the wingtips separated (left and right) and the wings (center) assembled.
Magnets joined to the back of piece #3 with the magnets lined up properly for placement in relation to the rear of the Next Liner and the Solar Explorer. This can be a little a tough to do. As you can see you have to have the model upright when setting the polarities right.
As you can see the assembly is getting big and the other ships aren't even attached!
Magnets attached to the top of the main body. This is actually the bottom view of the model. Also some experimentation was done as to what colors to use. Note the glue tabs at the rear of the main body. The "purple" on the right is actually blue in real life. The sky blue colors turn out dark blue. Another "lost in translation" series of colors. Go figure.

Attaching the rear panel to the main body. Start at the top glue and let set. This allows you to get ready to glue the other sides and push in at the same time.
Next you glue the top left and right corners. Then glue the right side. Then glue the lower right side and lower tab. Once that is done you are ready to finalize the gluing by gluing the lower left and left sides.
Finished gluing. If you slightly mess up you can take a knife and undo your work or just color the white portions in with the marker of your choice.

This would make such a good T.V. series. Kind of like Star Trek Voyager, but no destination, except maybe looking for a world to inhabit. This would be a generational ship, possible lasting indefinitely as it would go one, be modified. The potential is enormous!! We're talking exploration of part of the Galaxy!

At this point I was debating whether or not to just join the right hand side to the bottom then add the left side. This turned out to be the case when the left side was connected with the rest of the assembly. For some reason it just wouldn't cooperate. Eventually it was made to work!

Bottom joining to the top assembly. As you can see I started at the rear of the model joining the two sections together. Note the cut made to accommodate the rear magnet. The rear magnet was also cut at an angle to allow the gluing of the rear when the top is placed on the bottom. This provides greater clearance of the magnet with regards to the top.
At this point the rear was glued up to the center of the model. Glue is now added to the bulkheads to the rear of the last magnet in the pic. The rearmost tabs that can be seen are next glued and then you work your way to the front pushing in the sides of the model to line of with the bottom. Tricky, but not impossible.

It's hard to tell from this angle, but the struts were moved outwards 5mm for both sides. The struts had to be cut away from the model and reglued.
Extra pieces were removed and white areas were colored in.

Actually I think that thanks should be given to the great Jan Rukr for designing these ships in the first place! Always enjoy his work. I do have a few recommendations regarding the assembly of the models, but that will wait until later. Just a difference in building and designing that's all.
Almost finished. Just have to do the fighters. The greebling opportunities are endless on these models. They are quite rich with textures. I think a game could be done on this concept pretty well especially with the different versions of minecraft out there such as Space Engineers or Empyrion Galactic Survival. Another game that's out there involves scavenging parts from the ocean floor to make submarines and sea bases called Subnautica. That's a game that just screams for paper modeling.
One of the ships I'm going to have to redo though is the first ship - the Rea Liner. The magnets unfortunately are too weak and don't line up too well with the front of the Orca. I guess the next build of it I could line everything up with better magnets and greeble the whatever out of it for kicks.

Here are the mini-fighters
The design included 8 mini fighters. However, I recommend that as you cut out the model that you do an additional scan of each template to make more fighters. All fighters have magnetic filings to allow each one to be magnetically joined to the ships with magnets.

Thanks Z! Cybergrinder's posts on the Thunderbirds I think deserves similar credit. More work seems to be needed on the Robinson. I'll see what time I've got if I should demolish the Rea Liner, modify it, or just redo it.

Yeah I guess you are about right when it comes down to the fighters / transport ships being about the size of TB4.
No I don't think that you're dreaming this up. I got the sneaky suspicion that the B-wing was the inspiration for Ship #5 the - Rea Liner and Ship #6 - the Solar Explorer. Although scale wise the two ships are MUCH bigger than a B-wing. Look at the little white dots that make "windows" and you get an idea of the scale of these ships. Each window is about the size or a little bigger than an average size human - maybe about 6 ft (183 cm) tall. If I had to guess I'd say that each of these ships are about the size of a mid sized cruise ship one of those that would take about 1200 people or so.
Just a guess though. Only Jan Rukr knows for sure.
In real life the whole assembly is about 2 feet long or about 61 cm.
Yeah I agree the bombers (from the Last Jedi) were just lame. Although, I got the feeling that the whole theme throughout the Last Jedi was out with the old in with the new. I also expected more lightsaber battles from a bunch of dark Jedi vs Luke Skywalker or Rey etc. More detail could have been done on Snoke or a Snoke / Luke confrontation. More training done with Luke and Rey. My opinion. I did like the kid at the end summoning a broom stick with the force. That was a nice touch. Overall more questions than answers. I personally would like to see Asoka Tano come in and start a Jedi Training academy - minus the standard Jedi training. Just thinking out loud.
