OK I know we are only supposed to keep these sets as an investment but I get a lot of enjoyment out of running them. I just ran my Mikado 2 8 2 a little too hard, a little too long. I know steam should come out from under the engine, but not smoke!!!! can I replace the motor in this thing? and if so Where and what do I purchase? Has anyone had experience fixing these units.

The units look like AHM or Rivarossi to me. You might try one of the Toronto hobby shops.
Don't expect a great deal of free help on a unit that they never carried.

I myself have a Tan-Can motor installed on my Rivarossi Hudson. It's not too hard a task so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend even a beginner whose mechanically inclined to give it a try.

The President's Choice loco I have was made in Slovenia and has an IHC brand on the bottom. Maybe try them for parts.

If yours is an IHC also, I have a used motor that I took out of an IHC pacific that might fit.
I would need to see a photo of the old one to tell you for sure if it will be a direct replacement.
