This is a bit of a joke...Betexa came up with a contest in May to use their Karosa model as a recession for overpriced green sweets, which are given the adjective "Dubai"...all they had to do was come up with some humorous situation in which their green Karosa could be used (you can read more on their website)... and since I'm currently gluing smaller things, this seemed like a suitable model to have a little fun with. So I came up with the Dubai Wedding Cake. If anyone wants to, please do, I wish you a good appetite.
Now a few technical things:
- the green bus can be downloaded from the Betexa website, I made plastic wheels and wedding decorations on it, I reduced it to 1:100.
- the cake is also a free model from Tomáš Hrebík, I just enlarged it 2x and changed the color to green, since it is supposed to be Dubai...
- the accessories are from the Canon website (reduced to 20 percent)
- I used 2 more plastic figures, paper plates from Tesco and the fork can be downloaded online...
Recently, the firefighters celebrated the feast of St. Florian, so for this occasion I glued this interesting fire engine special that Alfa made for its test track "Circuito di Balocco".
This test track was built by Alfa Romeo in the early sixties for testing new vehicles, prototypes and racing cars. The area of the track is over 500 hectares and there are more than 80 kilometers of different types of test tracks.
My modifications:
-modified wheels
-highlighted plastics on the body and a molding on the hood
-added a simple interior
-added hoses and a protective frame
-added rearview mirrors and wipers
-I dusted the car a little and added a simple base with a figurine of Gianfranco Rigolone, who served as a firefighter on this circuit for more than 30 years and thanks to whom the car was preserved in the Alfa Romeo museum, a few photos:
I got the opportunity to build this interesting rally car as part of the beta test. I have 2 versions, the first is the car from the 34th Rally Matador Tatry 2003 (crew Jozef Béreš Jun./Petr Starý) and the second car is from the 30th Cyprus Rally 2002 (crew Petter Solberg/Phil Mills)
I will build the car from the Tatra Rally with only minor modifications and then I will try to modify the Solberg car a little more.
So, first I'm gluing a car from the 2003 Tatra Rally. It's my first experience with PaHa Veterans models. I have to appreciate the detailed instruction drawings, which is not always the rule with minimodels. The model itself is in minibox scale, but it's already a fairly detailed model. So far I've glued the bodywork as it is and some parts really gave me a hard time...it's a lot of work to glue (plastic bumpers, widened fenders) but it can be glued (I'm not very happy with how I managed to glue it, but I'm sure there are modelers who can glue it better) and the result is worth it. So far everything has fit, I haven't modified anything, I just glued the widened fenders to the bodywork butt (I cut off the triangles). I'll still glue the chassis, details and a simple base. A few current photos:
...thanks, this car has really attractive body shapes
Subaru got the chassis, it fit perfectly. I usually don't deal with the chassis, since my models are glued to the base, here I followed the instruction drawing exactly and the result can be seen in one photo. I also started working on a simple base, the car will be shown in a jump, roughly as in the photo... I will still deal with minor flaws and details on the car itself... A few current photos:
So I'm done. I puttyed the base, painted it with brown acrylic, used brown sprinkles and finally added some static grass (see photo)
If I have to evaluate the model, everything fit. The most difficult part is shaping and gluing the front hood, bumpers and extended fenders, the chassis parts fit perfectly. I deliberately didn't modify the model much so that I could try how it can be glued in its original form. As you can see, even without modifications, it is an attractive model. My only modifications are modified wheels, wipers, antenna on the roof and a simple base. Finally, I will add the final photos:
