During World War II, the partisan brigade of Ján Žižka operated here under the leadership of Col. Teodor Pola. The partisans had bunkers built here, and in one of them on December 13, 1944, Hitler's troops burned seven wounded partisans.
The impressive Mound with a pylon and a mausoleum stands out in memory of the fallen heroes of the SNP. The foundation stone for the Mound was laid in 1946 by the chairman of the SNR Karol Šmidke. The construction was completed in 1951, when the first SNP celebrations were also held.
The memorial is surrounded by an earthen rampart, which is spanned by stairs. The memorial is surrounded by bushes and the walls of the rampart are paved with stones. On one side of the wall are maintained partisan graves - a symbolic cemetery with the graves of SNP fighters and organizers.
Under the monument there is also a natural amphitheater, which is divided into several levels, where there are benches for sitting. On each level there is one stone tablet. Outside the area there are also several bunkers, in which partisans hid in the past and now 3 bunkers have been newly reconstructed and visitors can see them.
Model
This is a simple model that I didn't modify much. As the author states, in order to simplify the construction, the central pylon, which has the shape of a 5-pointed star, was simplified to a 4-pointed one. I didn't like this modification and I modified it as it is in reality. Otherwise, I just added grass and bushes.
