This is a really beautiful cruise ship model from a different era. If the railings were done with posts and string, the model would really pop. It's very detailed, and make a really nice display piece.

This ship was captured when WWI started, and converted into a troop carrier. She was renamed the "USS Mount Vernon (ID-4508)". This ship was hit by a torpedo fro, a U-Boat, but being built by the Germans, she was so well built, she survived and served until the wars end.

The history of this ship is interesting, and being a "freebee", was a great asst for the U.S.
