Very nice! "Homesteading" has always fascinated me. However, it is something that I have never thought about getting into.I actually follow a few cabin builders who live around Russellville Ark. People who bought acreage and turned forest and field into homesteads.
Thank you very much for the "heads up". I will keep my eyes (and nose) open.I have found that it is good to keep a sharp edged shovel or hoe, or a .22 rifle close to hand in the spring and summer...... for snakes.
the worst ones here in Arkansas are the Copper head, and the rattle snake.
If you have a good since of smell, you can smell them long before you see them. They smell like a cross between rotted meat and a skunk.
I hope that you are making a strong and speedy recovery.Well, upon my return after a spell of ill health, it would appear you are off to pastures new...
Wish you well for the future, and hope you take care of the family at hand
Thank you, each day is different, but I'm slowly and hopefully, with fingers crossed and wood touched edging towards 'normality'I hope that you are making a strong and speedy recovery.
Thank you very much for the well wishes.
We have quite a bit to do to get established here.
Hi Rhaven,We have made it to Arkansas now.
We are out in the "middle of NOWHERE"!
For me, "FAMILY" has always come first. So, when my Aunt asked me to move in with her to help her. It was absolutely no questioin of what I needed to do.Hi Rhaven,
While tryin to get unconfused with which site is the new one (they both are exactly the same. Carbon Copies of each other), I saw your post here.
Having a wife that's gone thru breast cancer, and now, other ailments that take loving care, I can sympathize with you. That's why I'm on and off of the forum frequently.
Anyways...
I'm Glad you're settled down, and hope your aunt is doing well.
Laterz...
BTW: Keep yer eyes fer them critters, like Black Bears, Cougars, Bobcats n snakes. Maybe some mountain lions... You know, them kinda critters.
LIONS, TIGERS n BEARS... OH MY!
Oh YEAH! Almost forgot! Kee-p yer eyes WIDE WIDE OPEN for the ocasional BIG FOOT. that may wander by...
Have a good one buddy.![]()
The almighty Rhaven is like Chuck Norris. He bites the snakes instead. In addition, he is as tall as Bigfoot - ... erh .... thinking about it: Anybody wondering why there is no picture of Chris and Bigfoot at the same time, too??? I noticed that whenever Bigfoot appears, Chris suddenly disappears shortly before... Hmmm...Hi Rhaven,
