Hi I've just signed up.
I got fed up with the cost of plastic models and came across UHU02 huey luey and dewy.
loved making them and have now made many, many more.
Last Christmas I broke my neck when my loft ladder collapsed and while i was recovering made the u Boat Das Boot, lovely model.
I make most of my models up to A3 scale from the originals for Exhibition reasons.
some i purchase others I find
I have been modeling for about 4 years and now run paper craft workshops voluntarily for local youth groups. I also display my models at our local village show which go down a treat.

I'd like to know if anyone else runs introduction workshops?

I normally combine an small exhibition along side.
So many folks are unaware of papercraft in the uk.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
The cost is one of the many reasons why I make paper models as well. The other is that there are more Sci-Fi models available in paper than there are in plastic.

Great to hear that you are making workshops. An excellent way to introduce many "little" paper friends to the hobby.

Feel free to post some pics of your works here in this thread. This makes it easier to find them and you skip the moderation procedure.

Just make yourself comfortable and have fun and enjoy! :)
 
Threads in the Gallery are of models that have build threads. You can post your work here in the threads, but if it does not have a build thread, on this forum, then it does not go into the gallery., it goes into a thread, preferably your Introductory Post. ;)
 
Welcome to the site... what a great idea of doing workshops, and giving back to the community at the same time!!...

Dan, this is his Introductory post, problem is he posted all over the place. The situation has been resolved, and I expect to see a bunch of pics from Rev Ian in THIS thread, and not anywhere else, unless he starts a new model. Thanks. ;)
 
Better use the "Upload a File" button in the bottom-right corner of the reply box. :)
 
Rev Ian, Click on "Upload File", on bottom right of page, A dialogue box will open, navigate to the picture, click on the picture you are selecting, then click on "Open", the picture will upload. When the uploading Bar has finished, (you do not have to wait for the bar to add more pics), then select either Thumbnail or Full Size, if they are big pics, people with slower connections probably won't bother reading the thread as the pictures are taking too long to upload. If you keep them at around 1024 x 768, then go Full image, as that will open rather quickly. If you wait till they all upload, then by pressing Thumbnail, or full size, it will batch process them. Wherever the cursor is clicked is where the picture will appear, so make sure you put the cursor at the end of your paragraph, then click "Enter" a couple of times, so you don't get pictures intertwined with your thread.

10 pics per post, as many posts as you need.

I'm having a problem with where to keep all my models.... and I seem to build bigger with every project...:sticktongue:
I hope I win the lottery and I can make some space to accommodate them all..... :biggrin:
Even at the scale of your model, I dunno whether it would be 'cat-proof'.... Certainly not in my house anyway... :sadno:
