I would like to share the Harbor Gate Depot, a small papercraft diorama I made in 1/64 scale, mainly intended for use with Hot Wheels, Matchbox and other vehicles in the same scale.
The diorama represents a small loading and depot area, with weathered brick walls, gates, a loading platform, doors, signs and a yard where the vehicles can be displayed.
On Papermau I published three posts about this project. The first two show the assembly process step by step, with several photos, and the third one presents the finished model and includes the free download of the templates.
During the build I also showed some of the simple techniques I usually use in my models, such as scoring the fold lines before cutting, reinforcing some parts with cardboard, treating the paper edges and creating small depth effects on doors and other details.
They are not complicated techniques, and many of you probably use similar methods already, but I thought it could be interesting to show a little of my own building process.
The model was designed to be relatively simple to build and also to allow some customization. For example, I included more signs and small details than are actually needed, so each builder can choose how to finish the diorama.
I hope it may be useful to someone, and if anyone decides to build the Harbor Gate Depot, I would be very happy to see some photos of the finished model.
