You know what's been going o with me, and all that. this thread is wonderful. it shows what fathers/mothers could be making for their children, with their young ones. they will last for years, take om the battle damage of children playing, then easily restored.

I gave my flight instructor's son a model of a "Lotus Europa" when he was 8 years old. I visited him last years, now a wonderful teenager, he ran back to his room, and pulled out the "Lotus Europa" car I had made almost a decade earlier, he treasured it, a little bit of moisture damaged, I wanted to spruce back up for him, but he was already putting it back in the special shelf he kept on.

Such a small thing brought so much pleasure. My flight instructor is a wonderful father. He impressed on his son that that model could not be purchased and I spent hours making it for him.
His son took that too Heart, nut I told him to play with it, and if he ever needed fixed to have his father call me. I never received a call, as it was and is so special too him.

So is it with these models. I know you and how you give from your heart, these are wonderful, specially greebled models that will last for decades possibly.

Too right you are. The GENET collection is a great (long lasting) project that parents can work on with (or for) their children. The main reason why I started this thread, is to show that these models can be built either "as-is" or "greebled out" These model templates are also a great way to teach those who are interested in paper/cardstock model building, all that can be done with this hobby (and still walk away with a very nice looking model).

Many times I am asked what I do with the models that I have built. Some I keep, some I have given away, and a few have had (very unfortunate) accidents.

With that being said, I like giving them to children (as well as adults) that are actually interested in a particular model (or models). When I was in Wroclaw, PL, I had given my entire Thunder Fighter collection (as well as a few other models) to the children of a friend (shortly before I returned to the US). Needless to say, the children were over the moon elated.

Yes Genet did a fine job with the design templates for these models. Great way to get beginners into paper modeling.

It's amazing to see how good the model looks - even before "greebling hour" . The geometry is very interesting. Genet achieves compound curves with very little folds.

The construction is solid, yes. However the type of formers (which are (essentially) boxes) are not very solid. The type of former the designer uses for these models is my only criticism. I think that it would have been better if the designer used "skeletal" style formers.
