Designing the Ebon Hawk from scratch (or die trying)

I know there is the awesome model from Martinus. But I wanna do a less awesome model. I like the idea of a 1:250 minimodel inspired by the ones from prmodels. That way I could have the Hawk sitting next to the Falcon, even if they existed thousands of years apart.

The Ebon Hawk is a beautiful ship and holds a special place in my heart ... and I guess, in the hearts of all people who played "Knights of the old Republic".
But it is a difficult ship, too. In the lore it has a length of 24 meters. The exterior of the in-game ship must be of the same length.
BUT the in-game interior is much larger! Must be because of gameplay mechanics, namely the third person camera.
Additionally I say: the exterior is too small, too! No way the rooms and corridors would fit in there. Even with lower ceiling heights and narrow passages.

I know there is often a difference between games and lore, mostly because of engine limitations. Cities in TES games are small but have ten thousands to hundred thousands inhabitants in lore.

But 24m for the Ebon Hawk? Let it be 30m at least. Little bit smaller than the Falcon but with enough space for everything.

That being said I'm thinking of enlarging the ship a little bit...
... and risking to be struck by the hate of star wars lore ultras XD

Speaking of scale:
I made new mannequins to accompany the build. The characters from KOTOR.
I shrink-rayed ... ehmm I mean I ... did them 1:250 scale. Like the target scale for the ship.

Here they are posing in front of the Falcon like some time travelers.

Lots of people here to help, you only need ask. :)

thanks!
looks like I started this thread a little bit too soon. because now christmas arriving I am busy building some other models as presents (two cars from minimodels.sk) and the dimorphodon from dinoreplicas (@Strick67).
I will come back to the ebon hawk as soon as I have time. Also need to finish the Teladi Kea because I want to share the template of the Kea with the forum ...
aaaaand I am working on sailing ship 1:250 also

all that with two new children since 1 month:lolsign:

So I was thinking about how to design the parts. I will try with a sort of core piece, flat, and attach the other modules to it.

Like that, red can be the core parts. Black the ones to attach on top. Until now I just thought about the upper side

Found some time to work on the design. Since we are more or less alone with our new children since end of december there is almost no time for something else. But the kids are of course more important than everything else.

perhabs I will find the time to try to assemble the first parts and to see if it works out.

Children come first, then second, then, until they are all set. ;)

A few words to my methods (may interest someone):

next to drawing the model based on images I found on the web, I use blender for basic stuff.

Like for getting some simple measurements on a 3D model of the ship:

And very helpful for me, as I don't own good but expensive software like Rhino, use the blender papercraft export to export some basic shapes that I need. In the following example a "pizza" piece, a truncated cone and a pizza piece of a dish. These vector files I can import in my vector drawing program to further work with them, like redraw polygon circles into really round circles.

There may be better ways to do that? Am I doing this a bit too complicated or with too many steps? Like getting that shapes. (though it works good for me)
