thanks RB. I think when the time comes..... I may try to use thread of some kind for the spokes of the rims. as I seen on another thread about this car.
I just love these old cars, and your builds of them are always great.
these kits are fun, easy to build, and a LOT of detail for the price.
Update: Installed the radiator. built some of the engine and the transmission.
I think I solved the lighting issue. I hung the two lamps about 6 ft away..... you can see the results below.... no vertical lines.

Update (sort of): I Haven't gotten much done, I've been trying to develop the best way to make spokes for the wheels. I started with using embroidery floss. and a template on a large eraser, with straight pins.
I divided the floss into 2 thread strings. each skein of floss is 6 threads. This was the result
not very good. Then I decided to use some lace floss instead.
the results were much better.

They look good. I might have tried a solid wire guitar string, either nylon or steel.They hold their shape be stretching them, one end affixed to a non moving object, and you pull on the other end attached to a woodenn dowel, you will feel it stretch around an inch and stay that way. That is how you harden the wire, then it is stiff enough to use as a pin. The final picture is too small to really make out, but if you use either Crazy Glue, or any glue that hardens stiff on string, and pull it through your ffingers, (not Crazy Glue), it will take the fiber and close the threads together and form a better looking spoke, which when painted, will have a smoother surface from the glue. Looks pretty good enough.
