1911 Colt Automatic

Yeah, something needs to happen here, what, I don't know. Making a gun is so damned easy, pretty soon I won't be able to own any of my machine tools or machines. Maybe I will start working on high powered air rifles, and skirt the law! Probably not, at least what I have is grandfathered in. You paper fgun would actually get you in trouble in this state, if it was not carefully carried. A License to carry Paper Firearms is on the books!! :)

I would not put it past them. In New Jersey, you have to get a permit to buy a BB gun, but you can buy airsoft and paint ball easily.

Well, here is another update on the M-1911 build.

The thread continues and I am still working on that display box. It is the small details that hold you up. I was going to make the hinges out of paper but decided to use real hinges instead. So, without further ado, here is the next batch of updates.

That would definitely get you in trouble here. You would have to paint the whole barrel bright orange, which always made me wonder, what if someone painted a real gun's barrel bright orange?

Looks excellent Silver!! :)

Thanks for your words of encouragement and for looking in. I do not know how to respond to the likes other than posting a reply but all the likes, thank you all who look in make youre likes.

More on the photo updates. the handles came out real good and embellishes the model to a better level.

Thanks everyone for the likes; The display case is almost done and the end is slowly approaching. Here are some more updates on the Colt.

The lower receiver gets its black coloring. You can make out the holes for the screws and indentation for the logo.

0062.jpg

Both parts are test fitted, and the holes get a wood brown paint job.

0063.jpg

it will be easy to change out the triggers since it can be removed by pushing out the pin that holds it in place.

The handwritten lettering has been changed so disregard it for the moment. The new lettering is more
professional looking.

Well. the M-1911 Colt Automatic is thread is almost at an end. The case is done and soon the final photos will come. Keep in mind, that I built it my way and some may have problems building the slide groove. I did it my way and bypassed the original method of folding. If done as is, (canon) it will be very fragile. My method of building it, is very solid and can withstand constant handling. The only weak area, is the link connector Enjoy the photos and I will be back with more photos of the build.

I think it's real and you are doing a disinformation campaign!! :)

Thanks for the compliment Zathros. While constructing this piece, I measured it against the real thing, and it is almost identical in size to the issue Colt. I believe that I could use them to construct a real operating counterfeit gun with the plans and copying the inner workings to make fully functional but not able to fire a chambered round.

Here are some more updates of the gun. Like mentioned, it is finished at this point but the next upcoming photos will be of the boxed Colt. Enjoy and see you all soon with finished photos.

The lettering was remade using the original from the schematics and placed on a matching color background.
It blended in perfectly with the surface of the gun and makes it look more realistic. Again, I was pleased as to how that little innovation came out.

Very nicely do AgO2, Looks as real as any Colt I've ever held. My carry gun for many a year was a custom Springfield 1911 A2 Combat Commander, no rail on it as the lasersight was built into the grip.

Beautifully done!! Technically, a masterpiece! :)

I have to agree if I did not see the build I would have considered you posted a real weapon on here. amazing job and may I say, closest to perfection I have ever seen on a paper gun.
