    Another Silly Question (cont'd)

Woodie, In your search engine enter "fallen flag railroad photos" it's a web sight, very informative and well run dealing with U.S. railroads past and present. Lots of good quality photos. Lance [This message has been edited by LC (edited 07-19-2001).]

    Something for T.K.

When someone with T.K.'s experience and knowledge passes on we all loose a lot. He was one of the "old crew", and gave us all enjoyment by his postings. Perhaps, and I'm going to, we could give the name "T.K." to a little spot on our layouts. Perhaps a junction, yard, or a scenic area. I think...

    Wanted: Pullman coach, affordable

Biggerhammer, In your search engine try "railroad equipment" -"railroad equipment for sale" etc. I never booked marked the stuff, but from time to time have looked and found quite a bit on the net. Also, it's very possible some city or town has something static that they want to get rid of...

    UP in Ontario???????

Woodie, years ago there was a "dead man switch" in some of the units, most likely F-3s etc. It was on the floor and the driver had to keep his foot on it all the time. As it turned out this was a great place to put your tool box or what ever would hold the thing down. As I under stand it, if...

    metal wheels

Have any of you tried taking Labelle 102 clear oil and putting just a drop in the pockets on the trucks. I have used it on my Rivarossi passenger cars for two years now, smoothes them right out and the cars just glide along. Still have the original wheels too. Have also used it on freight...

    The Main Line

From what I'm told by the crew, the #1003 did quite well on her first runs of the season. Seems a couple of problems developed, but will soon be taken care of. To be expected with all the work done over the winter months. I'll now close this out. Will start a new topic review when we get out...

    Funny People

Very good Shamus, at least now I know I'm not alone in the area of computer knowledge, or should I say the lack of it. Lance [This message has been edited by LC (edited 05-20-2001).]

    WC > CN - Attitude?

Dave, I too am involved in railroading and have found that the best thing any railfan can do is "just ask first". We usually will tell them or if possible show them a safe place to be and still see enough to make them happy. But as I said else where here on the Gauge, they are their own worst...

    The Main Line

Hi VGN, #1003 was all Soo Line, one of ten built by ALCO in 1913. Soo Line was very impressed by their performance and it 1923 (I think) dusted off the blueprints and ordered ten more. The heavy 2-8-2s were the work horses for Soo Line, often double heading long freights. The Pacific, #2719...

    WC > CN - Attitude?

Dave, I think what George is getting at is that "rumor" has it that C.N. is un-friendly towards rail fans. To tell you the truth, in my experience there isn't any railroad that puts up with un-authorized people on their property. Also there are a couple of steam locomotives that presently...

    C.N. & W.C.

Dave, Thank you for that input, it's along the same lines we have also been hearing. Positive changes are always for the better, it has been said, "if you don't like changes, then be part of them". Thanks, Lance
