My mistake was not paying attention to lighting the area around my layout, when doing it over thats the second thing I'd focus on after completing my trackplan. :thumb:

I have a kill switch set up on my system and when I leave a session I make it a point to make sure I turn off the lights and hit the main switch. That seems to be "electric bill" friendly for me :thumb:

Growing up we had a MEC/Guilford siding run along our boundry with 2-3 passes per day of the local switcher or Geep. Began by taking pictures of the trains, then one day (after 20 years or so) started in N scale.

I think foam is so pliable that I am glad I choose it :thumb:

Hmm, The wife took me out shopping early last night. One of the stops was the local dollar store. The one where everything in stock is priced at a dollar, whether it is worth a dollar or not :) I spotted a carded package of 12 paint brushes for 1.00 and thought that would be a great deal, at 8...

I couldn't, I laid my ballast first, then painted a month later, I am still touching up and going over my ballast now trying to cover up the Engine Black and Rail Brown paint shades I used. Looks OK if that was the ballast shades I used, however it wasn't :(

The areas that I model are greasy, so for realism it is necessary that they be painted :thumb:
