    After glueing roadbed... Nail it?

It should be fine. An hour or so and it is really stuck. I put down track the same way, but tack it to hold for an hour or so. Makes it real easy to get straight. IT stays soft enough to slide around while you tack or pin it in place. Lynn

Very basic question from a non-handyperson

Others will give you advise on the soldering, but I have a few questions. Is your track permanently in place? If not, I would highly recommend redoing it, or the bad parts. Soldering can give you continuity of power, but poorly fitted joints will (can) give you derailments forever. After many...

plaster cloth and hydrocal not sticking to blue foam

foam film It may vary in different parts of the country, but every new piece I have ever bought has had this film on it. You can't tell by looking as it is virtually invisible. The reason is that this foam is for insulation and the film keeps the moisture out. If you ever see a damaged sheet...

plaster cloth and hydrocal not sticking to blue foam

I assume you are aware that the foam has a plastic sheet on it. I had lots of problems until I found this out. Flick a fingernail at a corner until you see the film seperate. It is a very thin film, but tough, and will peel easily once it is started. I found this out by accident when I painted...

    Wasted detail

I think the roof has got to be the answer to this. Spifire did an awesome job on a corner diner. It was lit up to show it off, but the biggest thing is that a diner could have large windows. She milked it for all it was worth, but it looked like you could just walk in and order coffee and pie...

    Wasted detail

I have had that question in my mind for a long time. I have a building with a lot of inside detail, with no roof. I don't want to roof it, but seems illogical to have a roofless bldg. What's to do? Lynn

    Cutting Track

I'm a bit mixed on who's what on this. I use a Dremel to cut rails and make sure I never get it too short. Then, if both rails don't match perfectly in length, then it is easy to grind the long one to length. Lynn

    Cutting Track

I use a Dremel with a cutoff disc. If one rail is just a mite long, touch the end and it grinds perfectly. Lynn
