Phil, how is your installation going? Have you figured out how to get sound in there? I am still trying to figure out what is wrong with my engine. I had a loop of track set up with a DC power pack and decided to try the engine on it. It ran just fine forward and in reverse. I thought that...

Remote contrl locos on U.P. Anaheim branch.

Who knew how prototypical we were being by running our trains with hand held throttles. :D Now if only I could figure out what frequency they are running on. As cool as it is, I have heard of quite a few engineers that are upset, can't say I blame them. Freelancer

what is your most seasoned and driven train car??

Hmmm..... so many to pick from. Most of my stuff is still in storage so lately I would have to say it is my UP caboose. I especially enjoy running it because of the lit marker lights that I installed on it. Also in the picture is my AC4400 which is probably my most run locomotive. I am currently...

    Shame on me!

It happens to me all of the time too, but the usual culprit is frustration. I get frustrated with one project so I move onto the next project and get frustrated with that one and just give up for a while. The thing that really upsets me is that I finally have a place to start building my layout...

    Gauge layout Party No 5!!!!!

Population of Nowheresville just doubled. trains1972 still look'n good, do you have any shots of your son's weathering job? My next structure is moving along very slowly so I thought I would attempt at a couple more LPB's. 7 down, only 100+ more to go. Here they are gathered at...

    Gauge layout Party No 5!!!!!

Thanks spitfire! In a sense it is my first structure. I have built some when I was younger but back then the goal was to get it built as fast as possible so that I could play with it. Crooked walls, glue everywhere, and a ton of missing parts LOL. So I am classifying this as my first real...

    Gauge layout Party No 5!!!!!

I also picked up some LPB's at the last train show and tried my hand at painting them. I have a couple done so far and was quite proud of them until I put the camera up to them. That macro can sure pull out some detail you don't want to see.

    Gauge layout Party No 5!!!!!

I have finally made some progress. This may not look like much, but to me this is an outstanding achievement. This is the first structure that I have painted, and attempted "weathering" on, and is the closest that I have ever come to completing a structure.

    DCC and Spectrum 0-6-0T, HO

The engine was operated on DC first, a little here and there but not a whole lot. It worked just fine and didn't have any issues. Now at decent to high speeds while in reverse it works fine, but at lower speeds is when it lunges. I thought it might be the gears, but it runs fine slowly going...

twilight thanks for letting me know that the instructions were not useful, I quit searching around for them and decided to take some closer looks at some of the pictures on those web sites and was able to get the decoder installed, it really is a tight squeeze, even for the DZ121. The only issue...

    Confused by Hornby

Why me, what kind of decoder do you have? I definitely don't have any clue on working with Hornby, but I did a search on Yahoo and found this website. http://www.bromsgrovemodels.co.uk/hornbycl50dccinstr.htm It is very brief and doesn't explain a whole lot, but it looks like in one of the...

    Gauge Layout Party No 5

Can't pass up a party! I have had a large list for each party and never even completed half of the stuff I wanted to, so this time I will keep it short. Work on my modules. And build some buildings N Gauger so much for "planning ahead," here is party #5 and I am not even close to working...

    Locomotive Rentals!

HVRR offers a deal similar to that, $300 for a day. However you have to share your throttle time with a couple other people. Go down the line and pick up a consist, then spend the day traveling the main with it until you get tired. Can't figure out how in praytell they know when you are "tired,"...
