    Realistic consist for a Deltic?

Four coaches? behind a deltic - err NO! The Deltic was front-line express passenger power on the East Coast Mail Line (ECML). A protoypical load would be 10-12 coaches. They were the flagships until what we call the IC225 came along when the ECML electrified. In that scheme Mark 1s would be...

    Euroshuttle

American Train Show??? Never heard of that! There is quite a good book on the Eurotunnel operations out (has been out at least four or so years). Its about the same size as landscape A4 but i forget what the title is now. I know there is a copy in my local library. I should have a small book...

    Two Bachmann Spectrum diesel questions

i am assuming you mean the N gauage version - i have the A-B set and have been very pleased with them, one of them the motor isnt sat totally square so it binds every so often but they are decently powerful and are fairly quiet (although not as quiet as another club members Kato F3 A-B-A set)...

    Euroshuttle

if you mean that the cars with the loading platforms are lowered this is because the cars actually have a set of crane-like jack arms which come out when the car loading ramps are lowere to support the car and prevent it from rocking as cars and buses are loaded onto the train. The jacks are...

    Bye Bye F7!!

Oh most of mine so far are based around the old athearn heavyweight shorties with the corridor connections cut off and a pair of PE porthole style "windows" drilled into the ends on either side of the gangway. Just after something to look a bit different to this fleet!

    Train Sim discussion group

ermm, my MSTS effectively takes up the entirety of my second (older) pc as ive just gone mad and brought just about every add-on. We got two versions of MSTS over here - the original and the second one which had more locomotives and rolling stock on it. Think it had a few more routes too.

    Erie Camelbacks

humm, thanks, was really after an L1 but cant really justify a brass locomotive plus i dont really want a brass enigne because i know i would damage it. Could always bash it out of a couple of non-articulated normal camelbacks with a similar bioler size and drop them onto a suitable mallet...

    Bachmann F-40PH problems

then its not the lastest spectrum one. I have a F40PH at home and that has a DCC plug mounted on the top and was easy to fit the decoder to. I would suggest that maybe you could find the new Spectrum chassis or even a new Spectrum F40PH, i belive a few places sell them for around $45, although i...

    Beyer-Garratt

but you sure you didnt mean the D&RGW had one of these? http://www.ironhorse129.com/prototype/MasonBogie/Graphics/Mason_Janus.JPG Its a completely different type of engine known as a Fairlie. On these the coupled axles act in the same way as a diesel engines trucks whilst the locmotive has a...

    Beyer-Garratt

something like so? http://mysite.mweb.co.za/residents/freddie/ and a shay bolier would be WAY too small! the whole point of the Garrat was to carry as much of the weight as possible over the diving axles, spreading the weight as much as possible for lines which could only take light axle...

    Beyer-Garratt

    Beyer-Garratt

there are also some other manufacturers offering the garratts, namely Backwoods Minatures (that i can remember off the top of my head) The DJH ones are based on British prototpes from the LMS and LNER as well as a small industiral engine.
