    Multiple pictures in a post

I should know this by now but don't. I have seen several posts recently where one of a couple things occur and I would like to know how to accomplish this. 1). Someone has text, then a picture, then more text below the picture, all in the same post. How do you do that? 2)...

Some pictures to help you with a stormy backgound

Those are spectacular pictures. :thumb: I'm always astounded when I see the edges of a storm - rounded swirls of pure energy. Any feedback on the camera equipment used in the photos?

    Come along on our adventure

Bubs, Well, we hope you find your inspiration. :) We have had a great time building our small slice of our imagination. We watch so many of the folks on the-guage who have really awesome layouts and wonder if we will ever have anything close to theirs -- long lines to run, multiple tracks...

    Come along on our adventure

Bubs, Here are a couple of broader shots. We still have SOOOOO much to do.   When I step back and take a picture of the broader layout I realize there is still so much to do. I suppose that is the fun of the whole thing -- the more you do, the more you need to do...

    Come along on our adventure

Here are a couple pics of the lake edge showing the groundcover, tree placement, and scene design. I know the lake isn't in yet and so it is a bit hard to image the whole thing finished with the tape all over the lakebed, but we're pretty pleased with how the surrounding ground area came out. :)

    Come along on our adventure

NewGuy, I went out to the garage a took a pic of a scrap piece of the foamboard that shows the make, etc. Hope this helps.

    Come along on our adventure

JPguest, No, I don't have another website -- we just put our progress here. Glad you are enjoying the thread. We'll hopefully be making some more significant progress here shortly and will post some new pics. :thumb:

    Come along on our adventure

NewGuy, We used the blue styrofoam material, made by Dow, called Residential Foam Sheathing Insulation. I know it also comes in a pink color. The blue stuff we bought comes in a 4x8 sheet and in various thicknesses. I used 1 inch, but if I had to do it over again, I'd DEFINITELY use 2 inches...

    Yard switching

Hey, Newguy, thanks for the excellent post. :thumb: Sorry for the delay in replying but I've been out of town. Just now trying to catch back up on the-gauge and on the layout. As a matter of fact, I did buy a scanner (from Radio Shack) and programmed it with the railroad frequencies...

    Your Favorite HO Scale Manufacturer?

The problem I have with this is that the poll is so broad. I really like P2K locomotives -- they run very smooth and pull great. I wouldn't however, say that all Life Like locomotives are the same. Similar issue with Bachman. Too many sub groups within that one manufacturer.

    I'm BRAND NEW...

JD, welcome to the-gauge  We started our renewal of this hobby several months ago and I must say that the folks on this website have been tremendously supportive. Talking with many of the people on the-gauge reminds me of sitting with that one professor who you really admired, who was...

    A Walthers modulars building flat

Val, what can I add to all the accolades other than say that I am going to pull up some of the buildings we have on our layout and try to add some of the detailing work that you have shown us all. :thumb: Your last shot is really great from a perspective as well as realism viepoint. :)

    Yard switching

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been watching the yards and have not seen the process I mentioned previously, unfortunately. :( I am slowly getting to know the schedule of some of the trains, and ran into a group of folks who are into railfanning in the area. One of the guys...

What I Been Up To Lately:Passenger Station Diorama

Tom, this is really coming together great. :thumb: One question. What was the width of the pen you used for your yellow and white line markings? Wide, medium, fine  . Also, if you don't mind, who was the manufacturer of the pen? We are trying to get up our nerve to stripe our...

    Yard progress

Val, we're watching your progress closely. We love your rail ballast work -- looks great! :thumb: We're particulary interested in your real dirt process. :) :thumb:

    starting over!!

John, Just one comment on the foam for future reference, and for what it is worth -- When we laid ours, we could only get one inch foam. We debated, should we put two or three layers, or just go with one. We decided on one layer since we didn't know how "mushy" multiple layers...

    My new toy

By the way, Shamus, were those pics shot with or without flash, and in daylight or artificial light? Digital zoom or only optical zoom? - Cabdriver

    My new toy

I've been trying to take some pics of our progress and have been frustrated with our camera's ability to focus on close up items (like model railroads). Somethings are in focus but other are way out. I'm impressed with the clarify of the whole field in your pictures. Nice pics.

    starting over!!

Jon, I have to say that having worked on our 4x8 layout, we've already determined SOOOOO many things we would do differently on the next layout. :p I guess that is why many people on the-gauge recommend starting off small, learning from your first attemps, then moving on to the next...
