    A DCC question

You might want to check out the new Tsumani 1000 by Soundtraxx. They use a 32 bit processor and run at a higher hertz- there for the sound is better. It will provide the sound and the motor drive all in one decoder.

    DCC Power Output

Like stated in the above post- the Zephry will not power the TT motor- per say---:cry:But you can install a decoder to the TT motor and run it (the motor) just like you would a locomotive- you can get some very good control of your TT that way-:thumb: Just and idea you might want to explore.

Help me w/ DCC Specialties Auto Reverse Module

WOW! And it only took one week, I would say that was very good customer service. Would I be safe in guessing that there was no charge to you for the repair ? At any rate, you are up and running again and that is the good thing.:thumb: .

    Loco question

Three axle trucks don't like sharp curves, if the center axle does not have blind drivers( no flanges) it will bind on sharp curves.

    New layout in the works.

You have two problems when you use a helex. First is the grade- 3% is realy steep- throw in the 19 inch raduis and it is like a 6% grade( or more) The curves make the wheels bind when they travel around the corners, the flanges are hitting on the inside of the rails causing friction. Hard...

installing decoders with double sided tape

The tape might be causing and over heating problem if the tape covers the components on the board. Some of the decoders don't like to have the devises taped. Hold the board in a place where there are no devises, just the printed traces or pads. Just a thought. Just use Kapton tape only!

Shows scheduled for the Phoenix area

Hi Don::wave: Well like you said there was not much N scale at the swap meet. $5.00 bucks to get in -- well it was worth that just to have the fellowship with you and the new N Scaler (KMinspector). Nice to meet new Gaugers in person. Was a plus for me as he is into N scale and has some...

    Feeder Lines

All good advise. I have one question?? Why solder on the inside of the rail? I would perfer to solder the feeder wires to the rails on the outside of the rail rather than the inside. If you get too much solder on the inside it will cause the wheels to hit the solder and could cause derailments...

    Advice Please

If this is N scale, and by the part# that is what we are working with.( I think) The Digitrax boards are much thinner than the OEM board. That makes the pickup strips on both sides so that do not make good contact with the new board. Try shimmg the board down so the board will make good contact...

Finally got DCC now i need a lil help...

Yes tin your wires, and use heat shrink to cover the joints. Go slow and make sure you have the right wire in its correct place. Again go slow! Just keep track of which wire goes where, and you will be just fine.:thumb:

    Atlas VO-1000

The unit I have was going to get a DCC decoder. I always test run any locomotives before I install DCC. I like to know how well they operate on DC before I make the converson. The noise on this unit has me rethinking the DCC install. I don't think that I have ever heard a locomotive make this...

Man texting on phone - hits train

Well they can pass all kinds of laws that forbid phones & texting. That will not keep some fools from doing it anyway. The only way to stop the phone & text use from a automobile is to put some type of cutout devise in the automobile. If the auto is moving the phone will not work! You must pull...

    Atlas VO-1000

Hi outhere. Anyone have a Atlas VO-1000? I just got one, was waiting to get a new decoder for it, but I thought that I would run it on DC today to see how it would perform. WOW!!! Help me w/ DCC Specialties Auto Reverse Module

Thanks Baldwinjl. I do understand that the digital information is what makes the locomotive move forward of reverse. And the decoder does not care how it gets its information. It seems that TrainNuts problem is the reverse loop module is not switching and the short of the locomotive is shorting...

Help me w/ DCC Specialties Auto Reverse Module

After doing some thinking ( not allways good in my case). :confused:I am asking how does this thing work? We are working with AC voltage here, so if we make a loop and connect the wires we make a short, OK I got that. Now we insulate the loop at both ends so we have a section (center) that is...
