Anyone have a Building Plan for a HO Tressel Bridge?

Here's a pic of a trestle kit (the one in the back) that may work for you. I think the max span is 24", but you could probabaly stretch it a bit if you wanted to by scratch-adding more stringers and one more bent. I've seen what appears to be the same kit on ebay under different names. I think...

    track adhesive for trestle

I just glued Atlas flex trak with plastic ties to a wooden trestle using Liquid Nails for Projects. I dabbed a very thin layer on the underside of the ties and then clamped it to the trestle top plate stringers overnight. Worked great.:thumb:

    Trestlework on the layouts

I used a heavy black india ink wash on both the trestles in my pic above. For the smaller pile trestle, I brushed several coats over the raw wood and let it dry. THe larger trestle is plastic. I painted a light coat of flat white first, let it dry and then applied several varying coats of...

    Trestlework on the layouts

Thanks for the info Glen. Here's a poor pic of what I'm talking about. The bent trestle in the background is similar to the style of yours, although I elected to have it sit right on the rocky ground instead of on raised foundations. I built the trestle first, then rough formed the ground...

feedback on scratch built small mine

You can buy corrugated tin sheets in HO, don't know about N scale. I've also seen folks use ribbon cable from scrapped computers to model corrugated tin. As for cardboard, check out this site. I've used his technique to age plastic, don't know why it wouldn't work on cardboard if you sealed...

    Trestlework on the layouts

Good looking trestle Glen! I've got the same request Gus has. Show us how you set the foundations. I'm currently trying to plant a very similar trestle and am having a dickens of a time gettting the ground to just the right elevation under the trestle bent bottom beam. I've also just...

    Introductory Diorama

Not finding too much time these days. Here's a couple of recent things I'm working on. It's kinda hard to see in the pic, but the mine goes on forever thanks to a mirror at the end. Doc

Neat diorama idea, just need help with it!

I agree its a great idea, only I'm trying to build one to run on my Old West layout. I've searched high and low and can't find any one that makes an HO scale Delorean. I finally bought a Lamborgini at Walmart to try to bash it. It's the closest I've seen, body style wise. I do seem to recall...

    Sawing or Cutting Plastic?

Personally, I'd use the Atlas Super Saw. I use mine for everything, wood, plastic, track. I even used it for some oak florring I was installing and needed a precise cut. I wish I ordered a dozen. Becareful with other razor saws. I bought on at my LHS that had two very thin blades...

    Another brain-teaser

Ok, try this one. A school marm is as old as a cowboy will be when the school marm is twice the age that the cowboy was when the school marm's age was half the sum of their present ages. What are their ages? Doc
