    i would get rid of the tyco power pack and get a newer one. the newer power pack will have the right voltage to run it and provide you with better power

    made in yugo track could be various brands, there was a company who made track for all sort of companies for the set markets. for 8 pieces i would say junk it.

    i would go with the cork, if you lay the old fashion rail you have more creative control over your track work. more opitions in the track available to pick from. more switches, curve size etc, and the best part there is flex track

    Ottawa Central is now doing the yard switcher there as required and the company owned units are making a final trip to Ottawa for unknown long term storage or ? they are suppose toleave tomorrow after they do switching at the mill. anyone interested?

    Gradients for layouts

    a simple rule of thumb and one i try and follow when doing grades, 1/4" rise per foot of track, on a 4x8 layout you will have to do a bigger grade, mayve 3/8" to 1/2" per foot of track

    i finally rode the Otrain, very interesting ride. was not what I expected at all. nothig like a street car or toronto subway train ride. saw one OC train waiting for the O train to cross the tracks, also noticed we crossed another set of tracks , are both diamonds active with other trains?

    take it from me, if you want to run the more recent models, go for the largest radius you can make. this is a case of bigger is better. i use to run 18s everywhere and found out they do not work well for the new fleet I run with. 22 or bigger

    i would build a stronger leg support, saw horses would work, you seem to have some talent with wood so I am sure you could build some better legs. the ones you have look good, just build them out of heavier material nice work
