i find if you raise it a 1/4 inch per running foot it is a nice smooth grade, but you could go 1/2 per running foot .....it is anot as smooth but it works

mc henry makes a coupler that suits these models, they have short and long shank couplers. i have them on my pass cars.

i told you the repaint was lousy, at least i can honestly say i had nothing to do with the paint job, had it been a GN paint and left alone i would of kept it and run it with my athearn gp 7 i like that old paint job. glad you got in one piece and happy

Kadees or nothing...nothing seems to work better but be preapred for work installing them on bachmann cars if they a re the older models., take one car to the store with you to get the correct coupler

there use to be some amde by some the toy model scale trains companies but they were not very good models. you could try adding metal axles, and metal wheels to the trucks and putting in your lights to the cars and then using pickup arms to power the lights much like the toy cabooses were wired

check to see if some how you crossed the tracks with something metal that is causing the short, see if the block control is faulty? replace the block control with another one to see if the problem, last check to see if the lead was wired to the correct rail and not crossed . i have done that...

you can get replacement screws at a local hardware store, they not anything special, take the switch machine into the store and get replacement screws a few cents a piece is my guess
